Every month, we select one Board Member as our Board Member of the Month based upon the work they contribute to our team and (most importantly) our members. This month, we chose our Graphic Design Coordinator, Danielle Shearer. Danielle joined the AMA Colorado Board this year and has been creating the graphics for our events as well as helping develop the strategy for future design work.
Get to know Danielle and why she joined AMA:
Where do you currently work?
Personal Brand Specialist // Designer // Owner // Cat Enthusiast at CreativCat Design
Why did you join AMA? What is your favorite part?
“I joined AMA to connect and grow within the marketing and design community. I love building relationships with other like-minded individuals because I believe connections are a primary key to success. You never know who you’re going to meet and what they may need, or who they may know and what tools or advice they can share.
My favorite part of the AMA community so far has been working with our current board members, the Marketing Communications team and the Website Committee. They are always quick to respond and answer any questions I may have and open to new ideas and suggestions – making my job even more FUN! This team already feels more like family than a job. I really look forward to building stronger relationships with the board and I am excited to absorb everything I can in the year to come!”
What is a cool project you’re currently working on?
“I recently left my career at agencies and corporations 8 months ago to run my company, CreativCat Design full-time. That was the first accomplishment I am very purroud of, because it allowed me to design and focus on what I do best – branding. While this year has been a roller coaster ride with the global pandemic it has been as well lifting my business off of the ground. When figuring out what was going to separate me from every other brand designer out there (besides the cat puns), my team and I discovered a way to connect me to the mountains with my career. The mountains are what make me happy, they are not only my playground but also a place where I can work with those who advocate for our environment as well as play in them. Over the past few months, I have been working very closely with Caroline Gleich, a Professional Ski Mountaineer, Athlete & Activist to not only build her Personal Brand but also launch my service – Personal Branding.
If you follow Caroline for any length of time, it’s impossible not to appreciate her #climbforequality initiative, her activism for the environment, or her enthusiasm for skiing and outdoor sports. After learning more about who she was and what she stands for, the desire to help expand her influence and reach was undeniable.
“We all have a bright light inside of us, and it’s about sharing that bright light with the world.” – Caroline Gleich
It’s been quite remarkable to be part of something so groundbreaking and essential in helping Caroline tell her story. For me to be able to share my bright light through personal branding. She is someone to be admired and through personal branding, her influence and ability to empower others will reach incredible heights. She desires to encourage others not to give up and follow through. I am honored and thrilled to be able to work with Caroline. She not only was an absolute joy and pleasure throughout the process of bringing her story to life, but also became an advisor, mentor and friend. In the weeks to come we will be launching Caroline’s personal brand and sharing her story!”
